Over the course of the last year, in all my spare time between moving across the country, serving a full-time pulpit, writing a thesis, and finishing my last year of cantorial school…I made a film! Sounds crazy, I know…
You may remember about a year ago I released an album called Morning, A Journey. Well…this film takes that album and brings it into the multimedia realm via a format called a “visual album,” which is basically a long form music video with dialogue interspersed…kind of like a movie-musical. The film is exactly 60 minutes long (which means it’s considered “feature” length film!) This is a new adventure for me, and a journey I’m very excited about! Over the course of the next year, I will be submitting it to Jewish film festivals around the world. (Wish me luck!)
If you’re still confused…check out the trailer above. (Sometimes you have to see it to believe it!)
One of the things I have learned so far about this circuit, is that festivals will NOT accept you if your film is already available for streaming online. So this means, for now, this is a ONE-NIGHT-ONLY event! On May 24th, right after I finish my AJRCA cantorial senior recital, we will be debuting this film to YOU! I recommend coming in person for the full effect. However, for those outside of Los Angeles, we will stream it online, but this part of the event will NOT be archived publicly online for the reason I mentioned above.
After the screening, we will have a Q and A with myself and my director of photography, Madi Goldstein, followed by a dessert and wine reception.
I am really excited. And really nervous! I hope you’ll will dig it!!!
If you’d like to come, book your (free) ticket HERE!
Can’t wait to see you!
