Shalom!
I wanted to share with you a video clip from my recent album release concert. The song is called “Shiru Ladonai” which means “Sing a new song to God.” This song reflects my mission in life, which is to “make the old new, and the new holy.” To take the ancient wisdom of our liturgy and torah, and reinvigorate them with new life, holiness, meaning, and joy.
For this song, I took the text from Psalm 96, and added some of my own lyrics, and some gospel flare. And my good friend and collaborator Daniel Leanse helped me bring it all together! And on this video I am joined by my co-producer, Ross Garren, on harmonica, and Shira Fox on vocals.
Here are some of the English lyrics:
When we raise our voices
In sacred harmony
Our joy increases
And our spirits can fly free
Sing to our creator
From whom all blessings flow
Just sing a new song unto God
